ThinLine Flexible Breakaway Halter
Our ThinLine Flexible Breakaway Halter is designed for a very comfortable and secure fit. Know that your horse is safe on the field with the leather breakaway part that is adjustable at the crown. The halter deliberately does not have an adjustable noseband and you might think that the noseband is a bit loose, but we have designed this for the best comfort without rubbing!
Benefits and features of our Breakaway Halter
- Super safe thanks to the leather breakaway strap
- Comfort without rubbing
- Spacious noseband
- Easy to fit with the ThinLine Flexible Grazing Mask
Why is the ThinLine Flexible Breakaway Halter perfect to use with the Flexible Grazing Mask?
Our ThinLine Flexible Breakaway Halter has features that make using and installing the Flexible Grazing Mask easy. The strategically placed “holders” to which you can attach your grazing mask. These holders ensure that your grazing mask is secured in the correct position. This means that the grazing mask will not shift and will remain free from the horse's lips and nostrils.
You can also see how the specially designed breakaway halter places your grazing mask in exactly the right place for the greatest comfort for your horse and ease of use for you.

How do you attach your ThinLine Grazing Mask to the halter?
- Use the supplied paper tie-wraps or string to find the best holes for attaching your grazing mask to your halter. The paper tie-wraps are a temporary tool that allows you to easily adjust the fit.
- Two of the “fins” have a triangular cutout. You attach these to the square (side) rings of your pasture halter. Attach three fins to the noseband, one in the middle, the other two fall naturally on the sides of the middle. Attach three fins to the chin strap; one in the center, two naturally on the sides of the center.
- First secure each fin with a triangular cutout using one of the included low profile cable ties. Do not wrap the fins around the halter as this can cause chafing.
- When properly installed, the grazing mask should rest close to, but not against, the horse's nose. If the grazing mask touches the nose, lengthen the fins under the chin, this will lift the grazing mask off the nose.
- Once you are satisfied that you have the correct holes aligned with the halter, remove the paper ties or string and permanently secure the mask with the zip ties provided.
- After you have found the best fit for your horse, cut the excess fin material just above the top hole being used. It's okay to wait a day or two to make sure your grazing mask is a comfortable distance from your horse's mouth before clipping. The cable tie “holder” is on the outside of the grazing mask and the excess points downward and is cut off nearby.
If you have fitted the grazing mask properly and the grazing mask is the right size, it will work great. If you find there is too much grazing space, make sure your fins are securely attached to your halter. The fins should not move along the noseband. If so, tighten the cable tie.
The Thinline Grazing Mask can help prevent laminitis.

Again worth the investment for peace of mind that it will understand if caught. And it does! Good that you can replace the head bit.
Rosemary (verified owner) -
The head collar allows the muzzle to be fitted securely and my mare is usually able to rub a head collar off with in minutes, but not this one.
Colette O'Donnell (verified owner) -
Great head collar for the muzzle. However the photo on the package has a protector on the headpiece which is not included, a bit confusing and misleading.

First time with this, had a grazing muzzle before. THis looks far more comfortable than fitting to a standard headcollar as I have previously

Excellent product, does its job well.
Rebecca (verified owner) -
The muzzle and head collar were a great fit and my young horse has tolerated wearing it well. Being a spooky horse that doesn't tolerate change and new things I was really surprised at how easy it was to get him used to wearing it. All done and grazing in his field safely. 1 x happy owner + 1 x happy horse.

EMS & CUSHINGS diagnosis threw me this year but this has given my mare a chance to be a horse again. Soft on mouth and skin she's so happy to be back out.

Cob size is a good fit for my 15.2 warmblood. The loops are ideal for attaching the ThinLine muzzle and doesn't rub my sensitive mare

This headcollar is ideal with the flexible filly muzzle. I don't have to worry about the cable ties rubbing. It's nice and lightweight, and I'm pleased to have the leather strap for safety. It's not the softest headcollar but it hasn't rubbed my horse even though he is really sensitive and rubbing is often a real problem.

A sturdy and safe headcollar which complements the muzzle perfectly.
Jocelyn (verified owner) -
I bought the dumbbell as I knew it would be the easiest way to secure the actual muzzle correctly. My chunky cob is between sizes, and although the cob size fits I will now purchase the separate horse size leather headpiece so that I can attach the padded anti-rub halter wrap.
Andrea Woods (verified owner) -
Well fitted halter, I did go a size down and get a cob size and it was still spacious.
Girl (verified owner) -
Goes perfectly of course with the grazing muzzle. Our horse has taken it all off a couple times in one piece so far. Lies down to sleep/roll and then probably rubs head on grass and pops the dumbbell off. Works well to make a couple of extra holes on the poll-piece if the fit isn't exactly right. We did that as our horse was just on the tiny bit bigger side of a 'horse' size. Did notice that after about a week's usage we could start using the lowest original holes – so the dumbbell does relax a little with use.
Leena Hazeldine (verified owner) -
This dumbbell is excellent and makes the fitting of the muzzle much easier. It stays on. We'll worth the price!

Well made and struts with a leather strap to ensure breaking if stuck. Handy slots to attach the muzzle.
Lesley Cobb (verified owner) -
Glad I bought as made fitting easier. The chin strap is not adjustable which means my mare removed it twice in a 30 acre field but I have positioned the head strap under her Lycra fly mask and this seems to have fixed it
