Why should you choose ThinLine Western Saddle Pad Black Felt Liner
The thin, Western Felt Saddle Pad Liner offers more shock absorption than any other 2-inch thick felt pad. Pressure points are eliminated due to less bulk, the pad is soft and flexible, allowing it to fit snugly and comfortably to your horse’s natural conformation, and communication is restored. Without all that material between you and your horse, you can feel each other, but without the extra movement and “dead” feeling of bulky pads and gel pads.
Our felt saddle pad has a wither profile that is best for horses with moderate to high withers and a spine-free channel, which further reduces the chance of pressure points. This thin pad creates more space for narrow or tight-fitting saddles and improves comfort for horses, even with perfectly fitting saddles. The ThinLine ventilates over the entire cover, allowing excess heat to escape from under the saddle. The most important thing for your horse is how this pad creates stability.
For the horse;
The freedom at the withers and spine-free channel makes this saddle pad adaptable to the build of every horse - high withers or round build.
This thin endurance saddle pad improves comfort for horses and creates stability even with perfectly fitting saddles. The ThinLine material is also breathable, allowing excess heat to escape from under the saddle.
For the rider;
The design brings you closer to your horse, so you get a seamless feeling with your horse. You'll notice his back moving more, but with ThinLine's extraordinary shock absorption, you'll move in unison with your horse. The ThinLine layer sewn onto the pad has 95% shock absorption that spreads impact LATERALLY along the pad. This means that the movement you feel while riding is absorbed by the ThinLine and transferred OVER the pad instead of UP into your spine.
And this same shock absorption benefit is also experienced by your horse. With the reduced movement of your seat, it is easier to maintain your balance, so “going along” with your horse becomes second nature. You sit more quietly, and he responds with a relaxed, soft back and freer steps.
How can you insert shims?

You're on the right track. You will see daily improvement. But this can be a bit subtle at first. How to maintain your ThinLine Western Saddle pad?
Our saddle pads have a high percentage of wool. To avoid shrinkage, do not use hot water to clean or heat to dry. Brush your saddle pad occasionally with a horse brush. This will loosen hair, dirt and sweat to extend the usefulness of your pad. Care stones, such as Slick'N'Easy, also work well for cleaning the underside of your saddle pad.
Wool pads can be washed by scrubbing the dirty areas with a cloth or sponge, using cold water and a small amount of mild liquid wool detergent. Rinse off all soap with clean water and allow the pad to air dry in a well-ventilated area. When you rinse the pad, make sure to direct the jet from the center outwards so that dirt, sweat and hair are washed off the pad instead of being pressed into the pad.
